Garth Brooks Faces Rape Allegations From Stylist

A woman, identified as Jane Roe in a lawsuit filed in Los Angeles Superior Court, has accused country music star Garth Brooks of raping her in a Los Angeles hotel in 2019. The woman, who worked as a hair-and-makeup stylist for Brooks and his wife Trisha Yearwood, alleges that the assault took place during a trip from Nashville to Los Angeles for a Grammy Awards tribute performance.

According to the lawsuit, the woman claims that Brooks, who normally traveled with an entourage, was alone with her on his private jet and booked a single hotel suite for both of them. She alleges that Brooks appeared naked in the doorway of the bedroom and raped her, then proceeded as if nothing had happened and expected her to continue with her work immediately after.

The lawsuit also mentions an incident earlier in 2019 when Brooks allegedly exposed himself to the woman at his home and made inappropriate advances. The woman further claims that Brooks discussed sexual fantasies with her, sent explicit text messages, and created a hostile work environment.

In response to the allegations, Brooks filed a preemptive lawsuit in federal court denying the claims and accusing the woman of extortion. He alleges that the woman threatened to sue him publicly unless he paid her millions of dollars. Brooks seeks legal action to prevent emotional distress, defamation, and invasion of privacy.

The woman's lawsuit states that she continued working for Brooks due to financial difficulties, which he allegedly exploited. The 62-year-old country music icon, known for hits like “Friends in Low Places” and “The Thunder Rolls,” has not publicly commented on the allegations. His wife, Trisha Yearwood, has also not responded to requests for comment regarding the lawsuit.
