Garth Brooks calls himself an honorary 'culchie' after vowing to be back to Ireland soon

Garth Brooks has come to grips with Irish culture during his time year, even taking a stab at the word 'culchie' during a press conference in Croke Park today.

The star vowed to come back but said he doesn't want Dublin crowds to get sick of him.

He said: "The tattoo has started. It's one of the things we will be taking back with us and get it finished over in the states. We will always have this love together inside my heart and outside as well. Speaking on behalf of Ms Yearwood and I, we will be back. Not sure what form we will be back in but I can guarantee you we will be back. We will just be fellow 'coulchies'."

Garth and his wife Trisha Yearwood had been staying in a South Dublin penthouse suite costing €3.5k per night but found time to explore the Irish countryside.

Trisha said she also fell in love with the country and thanked the nation for their kindness.

She said: " We were on a bus and I spent all of my time just glued to the window. Even when we were just in between places, just looking at the countryside. I've been here several times myself but there is just something magical about it. It's just been such a magical trip. I would just like to say thank you for making us feel so welcome. It's been nothing but good and kindness."

Garth is playing is final gig in Croke Park tonight, with a very special encore promised.
