Jose Felix Jr stopped Gary Cully in the third round of their much-anticipated fight at the 3Arena on Saturday night.
Cully started confidently in the first as both men felt each other out. But Felix Jr turned on the style. starting from the second and landed a picture-perfect left-hand that stiffened Cully's legs.
The youngster tried to show that he wasn't hurt, but Felix Jr wasn't to be fooled.
The Mexican poured on the pressure in the third and landed a gigantic right hand that sent cully crashing to the canvas
Cully rose to his feet at the count of eight but never looked to be fully back in control.
He was dropped again with a right hand this time midway through the third but again showed tremendous heart to stay in the contest.
Another vicious combination of punches left cully on his last legs and mercifully, his corner threw in the towel and saved their man from receiving more damage.
