It’s no secret the New York Jets were beaten down physically by the Buffalo Bills on Sunday, perhaps a little too physical at times.
At least that’s how wide receiver Garrett Wilson felt, especially on one of his hits after a first-down conversion catch early in the third quarter.
Wilson caught a pass from quarterback Mike White and seemed to be heading out of bounds after the catch, when he was hit seemingly past the sideline.
Wilson took the Twitter to express his frustration and call out a referee from an earlier game a bit as well.
I ain’t got a call all season… one ref told me “this ain’t O State no more.” Crazy 🤦♂️ https://t.co/KquD2oslfU

The ref is right, this isn’t Ohio State anymore. It that doesn’t excuse players getting hit late. Referees also really shouldn’t be saying that to players anyway, so Wilson has every right to feel upset here.
Of course, now there’s the chance his wallet will feel a bit upset as well, if the NFL goes after him for those comments. Regardless, Wilson tried to get his point across and it also helps illustrate how some players seem to get special treatment on those types of calls. Wilson obviously hasn’t reached that level yet.
