Jets wide receiver Garrett Wilson wasted no time jumping into the NFL waters as a rookie, reaching 1,100 yards despite having four different quarterbacks at one point or another during the season. He went on to win Offensive Rookie of the Year honors.
Running back Breece Hall looked to be on his way to winning the award before an ACL injury ended his season in Week 7. Hall finished with 463 yards and four touchdowns on just 80 carries.
2023 could be an even bigger year for the Nos. 10 and 36 picks of the 2022 draft with Aaron Rodgers in the mix. Wilson can move closer to being a star in the NFL while Hall can show he can be a very good NFL running back and, as such, were named a Rising Star and “poised to take over” as a retail king by the NFL Players Association.
The NFLPA’s Rising Stars are players that “showcases 10 rookies and 10 veteran players who are not only expected to have a significant impact on retail sales of officially licensed NFLPA player merchandise but are also projected to compete for the top spot on the NFLPA Top 50 Players Sales charts.”
Fans already love the two top offensive rookies from 2022 and they should become more household names in 2023 with an offense more on track than it was in 2022.
