Peter Kay might have made a catchphrase of it, but there’s no denying the joy of garlic bread. Now the prince of side dishes is getting its own dedicated restaurant.
It’ll be run by the team behind the hit pizza spot Ciaooo, around the corner on Swan Street, and boasts a wealth of different varieties of garlic breads. There will be standard garlic breads with herb butter and cheese.
But there will also be the likes of ‘cacio e pepe’, pesto, nduja and honey, a marinara style a truffle, and a carbonara style with prices starting at £5 up to the top end at £6.50. It will operate from 12pm to 6pm daily, and also do a range of ‘pizzette’, small pizzas, starting at a fiver.

The new spot is on Shudehill, in the former unit taken by the x-rated waffle spot Mr Dick, which claimed to have 'Manchester's first and only sexy pastries. It went viral last year, offering up a range of penis and vagina-shaped waffles, covered with various toppings, but closed quietly a few months back. It was also run by the team behind Ciaooo.
Ciaooo has also become a hit on social media, thanks to its wild range of heavily loaded sourdough pizzas, not to mention pizzas heaving with toppings like macaroni and cheese and sweet dessert pizzas. It also does a range of fried dishes, from fried cannelloni to fried lasagne and fried ravioli.
The restaurant also had a wide range of garlic breads, which will now be made out of the new unit.
