Gareth Southgate sent clear England message by Nottingham Forest star

Nottingham Forest midfielder Morgan Gibbs-White has been lauded after his performance whilst playing for the England U21's team against France.

The Young Lions won 4-0 with Gibbs-White captaining the side and providing the assist for Emile Smith Rowe to open the scoring shortly after half-time.

Gibbs-White has been a key player for the Reds this season having scored two goals and provided five assists in the Premier League for Steve Cooper's side. The 23-year-old arrived at the City Ground in the summer from Wolves.

Here's how Reds fans reacted to his performance...

Andy Hiller: Hope you’re watching Southgate…

Daithí Ramone: That goal was all about @Morgangibbs27

Owen Barnard: Had a very good game, was a shame really he didn’t play after France made several changes because they looked a lot weaker once Cherki came off

Manmademegaphone: Lovely ball over the top for the goal, we need some of that

Smyles: Wears the shirt well

CityGroundShelf: Gibbs-White with a strong all round performance. An assist & now a substitution injury free. Beautiful stuff.
