Gareth Southgate has offered an update on the fitness of Arsenal forward Emile Smith Rowe.
Called up for only his second England camp, the 21-year-old has suffered with an injury throughout the international break and missed training in the build-up to Saturday’s 2-1 win over Switzerland.
Luke Shaw and Harry Kane ensured the home side were able to come from behind after Breel Embolo had put the visitors ahead.
Southgate has previously confirmed Smith Rowe’s problem is “nothing serious” and claimed there is a “chance” he could train on Sunday in before a second friendly against the Ivory Coast at Wembley on Tuesday.
The Arsenal academy graduate scored on his first start for his country in a 10-0 win away at San Marino in November’s World Cup qualifier.
Changes are expected as England look to try out a number of different combinations and systems ahead of the 2022 World Cup.
Kyle Walker-Peters, Tyrick Mitchell and Marc Guehi all made their debuts, while Conor Gallagher made his first start.
“Emile did some work with the fitness team today so there’s a chance he’ll do some of the training session (on Sunday),” said the England boss.
“He is the only other one we have got any flags on.”
