Gareth Southgate has reassured Manchester City fans about John Stones' injury after he was pulled from the England line-up at the last minute.
Just moments before kick off at Wembley, news broke that Stones was injured and would not be starting against Switzerland in the World Cup warm up match. Arsenal's Ben White was picked to replace the centre-back in the starting XI.
Many Blues supporters were quick to jump onto social media to share their rage that the 27-year-old was injured before a game which was little more than a friendly, adding to Pep Guardiola's worries in defence with Ruben Dias having been sidelined recently. However, City will have welcomed Southgate's comments at full time.

Assessing the 2-1 England win, he told Sky Sports: "We played out from the back well, Ben White and Marc Guehi were very good. Ben got caught a bit for the goal but apart from that to come in at late notice with John Stones feeling something, he and Marc should be pleased.
"We don't think it is too bad and could be ready for the next game. No point risking him in a game like this."
England went on to win the match after Switzerland took the lead through Breel Embolo. Manchester United's Luke Shaw equalised with a thumping effort just before the break and Tottenham's Harry Kane secured the victory from the penalty spot in the second half.
