Gareth Bale has seemingly ruled out a sensational playing return with Hollywood-backed Wrexham and insists he's enjoying his retirement.
The five-time Champions League winner confirmed his decision to hang up his boots following the conclusion of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, and seemingly has no plans to change his mind, despite apparent, and largely tongue-in-cheek, interest from Wrexham co-owners Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds.
Having overseen promotion to League Two, both men took to Twitter to lay out their case for a move to take Bale to north Wales.

McElhenney suggested the pair go for a round of golf to discuss a possible return to playing, while Reynolds even went so far as to tweet a picture of the former Wales skipper mocked up in a Wrexham shirt.
However, Bale has seemingly poured cold water on the suggestions.
Speaking at the FEVO Sport Industry Awards 2023, where he picked up the accolade for Outstanding Contribution to Sport, Bale was quizzed on the links by presenter Laura Woods.
"No I don't think so," he replied with a smile when asked if Wrexham might possibly tempt him out of retirement. "I was more looking for a free round of golf off Rob!
"I'm sure we'll have a chat and a joke but I'm quite happy where I am.
"I'm spending a fair bit of time with my kids and my wife. Time I've lost so much of over the years being committed to football.
"So I'm just enjoying family life and playing some golf."
