The New Orleans Saints are preparing to take on the Indianapolis Colts in their Week 8 matchup. They’ll be facing backup quarterback Gardner Minshew, who has not had the best luck against the Saints in the past.
The Colts drafted Anthony Richardson in the first round this year to be their franchise quarterback, but the former Florida star is currently on injured reserve thus leading to Minshew starting.
Minshew has not had the best of luck against the Saints defense in the past. He’s currently 0-2 against New Orleans in his career. The first loss came as a member of the Jaguars in 2019; Minshew went 14-of-29 for 163 passing yards with an interception.
His second loss came late in the 2022 season as a member of the Philadelphia Eagles. Minshew completed 18 of 32 pass attempts for 274 yards with both an interception and a touchdown lob, but he was sacked six times in that game, and the Saints left with a win. He’ll be looking to reverse this trend on Sunday.
