A woman whose body was found at a Dublin apartment died in violent circumstances as gardai confirmed a man is assisting with their inquiries.
The victim, in her 40s, was found at the residence in Royal Canal Park, Ashtown, Dublin 15 this morning at around 10am.
She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Gardai suspect she was stabbed a number of times.
A man in his 50s was earlier detained by gardai under a separate issue.
The man, who is understood to have known the victim, assisted investigators with their inquiries but is now receiving medical treatment.
A garda spokesman added: "Gardaí are not looking for anyone else in relation to this investigation.
"The investigation is ongoing."
The scene remains sealed off and is currently preserved to allow for a forensic and technical examination by the Garda Technical Bureau.
The Office of the State Pathologist has been notified and a post-mortem examination will be conducted at the Dublin City Mortuary.
