Gardai stop man driving car with flashing blue lights and seize unofficial Garda and Dublin Fire Brigade items

Gardai apprehended a man who was driving around Dublin in a car with flashing blue lights today - after he attempted to pull over an undercover cop.

The driver was stopped in the Baldoyle area at around 3pm.

It is understood the man was pretending to be a member of the force.

But a source told The Irish Daily Mirror how he was rumbled when he pulled over a real plain-clothes officer.

When officers searched his car, they found a number of unofficial An Garda Siochana and Dublin Fire Brigade items.

A garda spokesperson told The Irish Daily Mirror that no arrests have been made and investigations are ongoing.
