An investigation has been launched after a man was found unconscious with serious head injuries in a Dublin playground overnight.
Gardai and emergency services were called to the scene at Mac Uilliam estate in Tallaght around 11.40pm on Saturday.
The man, aged in his 40s, was taken to Tallaght Hospital before being transferred to Beaumont Hospital. He is understood to be in a serious condition.
Gardai have sealed off the playground for a forensic examination.
No arrests have yet been made and enquiries are ongoing.
Gardai are appealing for witnesses or anyone who was in the vicinity of the playground around that time to contact them.
A spokesperson said: “Gardai are appealing for witnesses following a serious assault incident in Tallaght on Saturday, May 14, 2022.
“Gardai are appealing for witnesses in particular to those who were in the vicinity of the playground at Mac Uilliam estate late last night to come forward. They are also appealing to those with video footage (including dash-cam) to make it available to them.
“Anyone with information is asked to contact Tallaght Garda station 01-666 6000 or the Garda Confidential Line 1800 666 111.”
