A man aged in his 60s has died following an accident on a farm in West Cork.
Gardai and emergency services rushed to the scene of the incident in Drimoleague, Co Cork on Thursday afternoon.
The man's body was located on a farm in the area at around 3.30pm.
It is understood he may have died after falling into a slurry pit.
His body has since been taken to Cork University Hospital where a post-mortem exam will take place in due course.
The Health Safety Authority will also conduct an investigation into the workplace accident.
A Garda spokesperson said: "Gardai and emergency services attended a fatal workplace accident in Drimoleague in Cork yesterday, March 3, 2022.
"At approximately 3.30pm the body of a man (60s) was located on a farm in the area.
"The body of the man was removed from the scene to Cork University Hospital where a post-mortem will take place in due course.
"The Health Safety Authority (HSA) will now conduct an investigation."
The HSA said is aware of the incident and the matter is currently under investigation.
