A body has been found after a blaze broke out at a home in Co Donegal overnight.
Gardai and emergency services rushed to the scene after their received reports of a house fire in Glenties, Co Donegal, shortly after midnight on Wednesday.
After the fire was extinguished, suspected human remains were located inside the property.
The scene remains preserved and the Coroner has been notified, with a file due to be prepared for the Coroner’s Court.
Gardai do not suspect foul play and are treating the incident as a tragic accident.
A garda spokesperson said: "Shortly after midnight on Wednesday, 9th March 2022 Gardaí were alerted following reports of a house fire in Glenties, Co. Donegal.
"Fire services extinguished the fire and suspected human remains were located inside the property. At this time, Gardaí are treating the incident as a tragic accident.
"The scene remains preserved and the Coroner has been notified. A file will be prepared for the Coroner’s Court.
