Gardai were called to a church in Galway after violence broke out at a child’s confirmation on Friday.
The public order incident occurred at about 1pm, and gardai attended the scene after receiving reports of a disturbance involving a group of men.
A video circulating on social media shows a number of people punching and kicking each other in the brawl outside St Teresa’s Church in Williamstown.
Among the chaos, a child can be seen kicking another person as they lay on the ground.
Closer to the camera, another young child is seen holding a baby in his arms as the fighting continues behind him.
Gardai confirmed they attended an incident at the church but said no arrests had been made.
A garda spokesperson said: “Gardaí attended at the scene of a public order incident at Williamstown, Galway shortly before 1pm on Friday, 18th February, 2022.
“The alarm was raised following reports of a disturbance outside a church involving a number of males.
“No one was arrested, investigations are ongoing.”
