Gardaí in Tullamore have been rushed to the scene of a serious road traffic collision involving a tractor and a pedestrian that occurred in the townland of Cappincur.
During the collision, which occurred on Wednesday evening at approximately 6pm, a male pedestrian, aged in his 30s, was seriously injured. He was subsequently removed from the scene to Midland Regional Hospital Tullamore (MHRT) in a serious condition.
The male driver of the tractor, aged in his 80s, of the tractor was uninjured, however, he was treated for shock at the scene.

The road is currently closed and local diversions are in place.
Garda Forensic Collision Investigators are conducting a technical examination of the scene and Gardai are appealing for anyone with information that can assist to contact Tullamore Garda station or any Garda station.
In a statement, Gardaí confirmed the incident: "Gardaí in Tullamore are currently at the scene of a serious road traffic collision that occurred in the townland of Cappincur, Tullamore, Co. Offaly this evening Wednesday, June 7, 2023, at approximately 6pm.
"A male pedestrian, aged in his 30s was seriously injured in a collision involving a tractor. The pedestrian was removed from the scene to Midland Regional Hospital Tullamore in a serious condition. The male driver, aged in his 80s, of the tractor was uninjured. He was treated for shock at the scene.
"The road is currently closed and local diversions are in place. Garda Forensic Collision Investigators are conducting a technical examination of the scene.
