Gardaí are not investigating the alleged leaking of a witness statement made by Jonathan Dowdall.
The document was leaked on social media as Gerry 'The Monk' Hutch’s murder trial continues.
Social Protection Minister Heather Humphries said she would have “no doubt” gardai would investigate the alleged leak.

She added: “First of all, this is a matter for the gardai to decide what they do about this issue.
“I wouldn’t say anything that would in any way compromise that. But I have no doubt that the gardai will certainly follow up on this and will investigate it.”
But a Garda spokesman confirmed there is “no investigation” into the alleged leak.
Sources added the alleged witness statement is not a Garda document, and that no complaint had been made.
Sources also say that while the alleged leak is concerning, officers are not sure if a criminal offence has been committed.
