Gardai in Co Monaghan made a surprise discovery after attending to the scene of a crash earlier this week.
The Cavan Monaghan Garda Division Facebook page posted details of the incident and uploaded photos of their find.
Gardai from Castleblaney, Co Monaghan, “came across” a single-vehicle crash in the early hours of Wednesday, May 25.

They conducted a roadside drug test on the driver, who had cannabis in his system.
“The driver of the car failed a roadside drug test testing positive for cannabis. He was arrested and processed for drug driving,” the post said.
The driver’s car was then searched and Gardai found what is suspected to be a quantity of cannabis.
Gardai conducted a follow-up search of a property and found a subsequent suspected quantity of cannabis.
The post by the Gardai said: “A subsequent search of the car was carried out and a quantity of cannabis (pending analysis) was discovered.
“A follow-up search under warrant was conducted at a premises and another quantity of cannabis (pending analysis) was recovered.”
Two men were detained in relation to the find and a file is being prepared for the D.P.P.
“Two males were detained and questioned in relation to the seizures. A file is currently being prepared for the D.P.P. and investigations are ongoing,” the post finished.
The post had pictures of the driver's drug test, showing that there was no presence of cocaine, opiates or benzodiazepines but cannabis was marked as positive. Another photo shows the seized drugs in plastic bags and a tin.
Facebook users commented on the post, with one saying: “Keep up the great work. Well done to all involved.”
“That's what we are meeting on the roads,” another said.
A third commented: “Well done guys. This idiot needs a driving ban ASAP.”
