Two men have been arrested after gardai made a huge drug discovery in Cobh, Co Cork on Halloween night.
The bust was carried out as part of Operation Tara, which aims to disrupt, dismantle and prosecute drug trafficking networks, at all levels - (international, national, and local) involved in the importation, distribution, cultivation, production, local sale, and supply of controlled drugs.
Gardai seized the drugs following a planned search just before 9:00 pm, which saw the illegal substances valued at over €100,000 taken away for analysis.

It is estimated that €90,580 of that seizure was cocaine and €10,240 was cannabis seized by officers along with €2,100 in cash.
Two men in their 30s were arrested at the scene and were later taken to Cobh Garda Station where they are currently detained under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice Act (Drug Trafficking), 1996.
In a statement, a Garda spokesperson confirmed: “Two Men Arrested and Over €100,000 in Drugs Seized, Cobh, Co.Cork - 31st October 2022
“As part of Operation Tara, Gardaí in Cork seized drugs valued in excess of €100,000 and arrested two men following a search in Cobh, Co.Cork on Monday evening, 31st October 2022.
“Gardaí conducted the search just before 9:00 pm. Cocaine estimated to be worth €90,580 and cannabis valued at €10,240 was seized by Gardaí along with €2,100 in cash.
“Two men, both aged in their 30s, were arrested at the scene and later taken to Cobh Garda Station where they are currently detained under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice Act (Drug Trafficking), 1996.”
The drugs seized have now been sent to undergo further analysis as investigations continue.
