Gardaí make arrest after terrifying petrol bomb attack on Dublin pub

Gardaí have confirmed that a man in his 20s has been arrested in relation to a petrol bomb attack on a pub in Dublin earlier this month.

The arrest relates to a terrifying incident at a pub on Loughlinstown Drive in Dublin on Saturday, June 18.

The man is currently detained in Shankill Garda Station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984.

Shortly after midnight on the night, a petrol bomb was thrown inside the pub causing damage to the interior of the property. The suspected offender immediately fled the scene.

Gardaí say their investigations are ongoing into the incident and they have are appealed for anyone who may have witnessed this incident to contact them.

Any person who was on Loughlinstown Drive and surrounding areas between 11.30pm on Friday night, June 17 and 12.30am on Saturday morning, June 18 and who noticed any unusual activity is asked to contact Gardaí.

"Similarly, any road users who were in the area at this time and who may have camera (including dash cam) footage, is asked to make this available to investigating Gardaí," a statement read.
