Gardai investigating 'all circumstances' after man's body found at Carlow house

A garda investigation is under way after a man's body was discovered in Co Carlow.

The man, who was in his 40s, was found dead at a residence in Graiguecullen, Carlow town, on Tuesday morning.

Gardai and emergency services were called to the house and the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

His body has been taken to Waterford University Hospital for a post-mortem examination.

Gardai say they are investigating "all the circumstances" surrounding the man's death and that the results of the post-mortem will determine the course of their probe.

However, it is understood the incident is not being treated as suspicious.

A garda spokesperson said: "Gardaí are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of a male (40s) at a residence in Graiguecullen, Co. Carlow yesterday morning, Tuesday 8th February 2022.

"The man was pronounced dead at the scene and his body was taken to Waterford University Hospital for a post-mortem examination.

"The results of the post-mortem will determine the course of the investigation.

"Investigations are ongoing."
