Gardai hunting mystery vehicle after spate of crimes as they release 'possible reg'

Gardai are on the hunt for a mystery vehicle after a spate of crimes were reported in Monaghan.

Two businesses in the area reported that their premises had been broken into in the early hours of Tuesday morning at around 2.40am.

The first incident occurred on the Main Street in Newbliss Village, while the second was reported at about 3:50am on Market Street, Cootehill.

Gardai believe the two incidents are linked and are appealing for information on the movements of a black Audi SUV with a possible registration of 201 WX.

A gardai spokesperson said: “The Gardai in both Monaghan and Bailieboro are appealing for information/ witnesses to break-ins to two business premises in the early hours of this morning, Tuesday 19th April.

“At approximately 2:40am the first incident occurred on the Main Street in Newbliss Village. The second occurred at about 3:50am on Market Street, Cootehill. Both incidents are believed to be linked. The Gardai are interested in the movements of a black Audi SUV possibly on a 201 WX registration plate.
