Gardai close road after teenager set upon by group in brutal attack in Finglas

Gardai are investigating after a teenager was set upon by a group in Dublin.

The incident happened in the Cappagh Road area of Finglas on Sunday night.

Officers were called to the scene at around 10pm after reports of a boy being attacked by a group.

Emergency services rushed the teen to Temple Street Children's Hospital where he is currently being treated.

However his injuries are understood to be non-life threatening.

The road was closed for a time by gardai on Monday morning as gardai investigated the incident.

A Garda spokesman said: "Shortly after 10.00pm, Gardai received report that a male teenager was assaulted by a group.

"The teenager was taken to Children’s Health Ireland (CHI) Hospital at Temple Street.

"His injuries are believed to be non-life threatening.

"Investigations are ongoing."
