Gardai arrest 'world's dumbest criminal' driving stolen car on way home from court

Gardai have arrested a motorist in Dublin who was caught driving a stolen car on their way home from an appearance in court.

The car thief was intercepted by the Commercial Vehicle Garda Unit driving a silver Toyota Yaris in the city centre on Wednesday.

Gardai quickly realised that they were driving a stolen car as they had removed the key cylinder from the ignition and hot-wired the car.

People took to the comments, with one man calling the driver the "world's dumbest criminal".
