Gardai have arrested a French fugitive in Dublin amid a Europe-wide manhunt.
A European Arrest Warrant was issued by French authorities for the 38-year-old man.
On Saturday, members of the Garda Extradition Unit and Garda National Bureau of Criminal Investigation, supported by local gardai in Store Street Garda Station, arrested the man in the Dublin 1 area.

He appeared before the High Court on Monday and has been remanded in custody until October 14.
Commenting on the arrest operation, Detective Superintendent Michael Mullen of the Garda Extradition Unit said: "The dynamic arrest of the fugitive re-enforces the strong working relationship between An Garda Síochána and European counterparts, including the significant benefit of the use of the Schengen Information System.”
In a statement issued today, a Garda spokesperson said: “On Saturday the 1st October 2022, members of the Garda Extradition Unit, Garda National Bureau of Criminal Investigation, supported by local Gardaí in Store Street Garda Station arrested a French man in Dublin 1 on foot of a European Arrest Warrant issued by the French authorities.
“The warrant was issued for the 38-year-old via the Schengen Information System (SIS II).
“The man appeared before the High Court, Criminal Courts of Justice, on Monday, 3rd October 2022. He has since been remanded in custody until the 14th, October 2022.”
