Gardaí have issued an update as their investigations continue into the discovery of a woman’s body in an apartment at Royal Canal Park in Dublin.
The discovery was made on January 13 and a man in his 50s remains in police custody at Finglas Garda Station.
In an update this evening, Gardaí have appealed to passengers who were travelling on Dublin Bus route number 120 (Rathbourne Ave to Merrion Road) on the morning of Friday, January 13, 2023, to come forward.

This bus departed Rathbourne Avenue at around 8:30 am and made its way to Spindrift Avenue, Royal Canal Park, Dublin 15, where the incident took place.
Gardaí are asking that anyone travelling on this bus, or anyone in the vicinity of Spindrift Avenue, between 8:15 am and 9:00 am, contact them.
They are also asking those with video footage from the bus or at any of these locations to make it available to them.
The statement published on Saturday evening read: “Gardaí continue to investigate the death of a woman (40s) whose body was discovered in an apartment at Royal Canal Park, Dublin 15, on Friday the 13th of January, 2023.
A man in his 50s arrested as part of the investigation remains in Garda custody at Finglas Garda Station under the provisions of Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984.
“The post-mortem has been completed and a preliminary report has been provided to the investigating team. Details are not being released for operational reasons.
“The scene remains sealed off subject to an ongoing forensic and technical examination.
“A Senior Investigating Officer (SIO) has been appointed to the case and a Garda Family Liaison Officer (FLO) continues to liaise with the family of the deceased.
“As part of this investigation, Gardaí are appealing to passengers who were travelling on Dublin Bus route number 120 (Rathbourne Ave to Merrion Road) on the morning of Friday the 13th January 2023, to come forward.
“This bus departed Rathbourne Avenue at approximately 8:30 am and travelled to Spindrift Avenue, Royal Canal Park, Dublin 15, where an incident took place.
“Gardaí are appealing to anyone travelling on this bus, or anyone in the vicinity of Spindrift Avenue, between 8:15 am and 9:00 am, to contact them.
“They also appeal to those with video footage from the bus or at any of these locations to make it available to them”.
