Gardaí in Dublin have put out an appeal for witnesses following a serious road traffic collision involving a car and a pedestrian.
The incident occurred on the N81 in Tallaght, Dublin 24, at approximately 3:20pm yesterday, Thursday, May 4.
As a result of the collision the pedestrian, who is a female in her 50s, was taken to Tallaght University Hospital to be treated for serious injuries.

The road was closed for a period of time to allow for a technical examination to be conducted by Forensic Collision Investigators but it has since reopened.
In a statement, Gardaí said that they are appealing for any witnesses to this collision to come forward.
They added that any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were travelling in this area at the time of the collision, are asked to make this footage available to Gardaí.
