A garda was hospitalised with head and upper body injuries after he was dragged by a car who was fleeing officers in Kildare.
The incident happened on the R403 close to the Barberstown Roundabout in Straffan at around 11:45pm on Friday, when gardai from Leixlip stopped the car. Officers were in the process of seizing the car under the Road Traffic Act when the driver "fled the scene".
A garda attempted to stop the car and was "was carried on the vehicle for a distance before falling". He suffered head and upper body injuries and was brought to Naas General Hospital. He has since been discharged to recover at home.

Officers subsequently located the car after it crashed in Straffan Village. A man in his 20's was arrested on Saturday morning in connection with the incident following a search of the area by a number of garda units. He is being held at Leixlip garda station.
Gardai are appealing for any witnesses of the incident to come forward. A garda spokesman said: "Any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were travelling in the Straffan/Barberstown Cross areas and the Straffan Village area between 11:40pm and 12:15am are asked to make this footage available to Gardaí.
"Anyone with information is asked to contact Leixlip Garda Station on 01 6667800, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any Garda Station."
