Gardai gave chase for almost an hour after a car which failed to stop at a checkpoint led them on a high-speed chase across two counties.
On Easter Monday at around 6pm,a vehicle failed to stop for Gardaí at Headford in Galway.
The car in question continued at a high speed from Headford onwards to Tuam while being pursued by Gardai.
From there, it crossed the border into Mayo and proceeded to Kilmaine.
The vehicle drove to Shrule before doubling back around to Headford, all while evading the chasing Garda cars.
The chase only came to a finish when the driver of the car turned into a dead end.
All five occupants of the vehicle were arrested and taken to Tuam Garda Station.
The quintet were all released without charge and a file is being prepared for the DPP.
Gardaí are appealing for anyone who witnessed the chase and has information or video/dashcam footage to contact them at Tuam Garda Station on 093 70840.
