A Roads Policing Unit got a surprise after the first car that arrived at their checkpoint was seized for a number of offences.
The Delvin Roads Policing Unit, which is a unit from the Delvin Garda Station, had just set up when the motorist arrived.
They were carrying out a joint agency checkpoint with the Road Safety Authority (RSA) in Castlepollard, Westmeath.

The first car they stopped was being driven by an unaccompanied learner driver, the official An Garda Síochána Twitter page posted, a page where they post updates on driving offences in the country.
They informed that the unaccompanied driver also tested positive for cocaine, following an on-site drug test.
Posting on Twitter, they said: "The Delvin Roads Policing Unit were carrying out a joint agency checkpoint with RSA in Castlepollard recently. The first car they stopped was being driven by an unaccompanied learner driver, who also tested positive for Cocaine."
They also informed that as a result of the two offences, the car was seized from the driver and a court date is due to follow.
The Delvin Roads Policing Unit had a busy week, having only two days ago stopped a car in the Trim which had been modified with a "faulty air suspension" as well as its tyres were stretched onto larger rims.
"It was subsequently seized and found to be dangerously defective. The driver now has a court date," the RPU informed through the garda Twitter page.
