Robbie Neilson hopes Hearts can get a deal over the line for Garang Kuol in the coming days as he opened up on his pursuit of Callum Paterson.
The Australia international - who featured at the World Cup for the Socceroos against France and Argentina - is set to spend the rest of the season on loan at Tynecastle from English Premier League outfit Newcastle after his arrival from Central Coast Mariners.
A deal has now been agreed for the 18-year-old with just the formalities of the move to be completed. Neilson admitted it would be great if he was signed and over the line ahead of the clash with St Mirren on Friday but will just take it as it comes. He said: "We're just on the paperwork at the moment to try and get it done. I've no idea if it will be done by Friday. It would be great if we could but we'll just need to wait and see."

Providing an update on Paterson and a potential return to Hearts, he added: "The two sporting directors have spoken so we're just waiting for a response.
"Callum's contract is up at the end of the season so we've been speaking to him about his future. It's down to Sheffield Wednesday now."
Asked if he envisaged more signings beyond those mentioned, he continued: "Not too many. It's about bringing good quality in and I think the two we've brought in so far will add to us."
