Gang of youths leave man in hospital after 'violent and unprovoked' Glasgow attack

A man was rushed to hospital after he was attacked by a gang of youths while walking through a park in Glasgow.

Cops were alerted to the 'unprovoked and violent' assault at Govanhill Park in the city around 11.50pm on Friday, March, 10, .

The victim, aged 56, was taken to hospital for treatment, where he remains but no more information is availible on his condition at this stage.

Police have established that the youths made a lot of noise during the attack and whilst leaving the park, so officers are appealing to anyone who may have seen them or witnessed the incident to come forward.

Detective Constable Glenn Clark, from Cathcart CID, said: “This was a shockingly violent and unprovoked attack and we are carrying out extensive enquiries to identify and trace the youths responsible.

“We are asking anyone with information, or who may have seen anything in the area around the time of the incident, to please come forward.

“You can call police on 101, quoting incident 0047 of 11 March, 2023. Alternatively, if you wish to remain anonymous, you can contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
