A gang of suspected robbers have been named by police as eight Co-op's and one Tesco were raided in one month.
Four men from Bootle are being held on suspicion of conspiracy to commit burglary after a number of convenience stores across Cheshire, Merseyside and Greater Manchester were raided. The Tesco and Co-op stores were raided between February 10 and March 11.
Anthony Hollywood, of Stafford Drive and Anthony Carroll, of Longfellow Street, both aged 42 were charged on February 23. A further two men, Daniel Kelly, 31, Prior Street, and Shaun Moorcroft, 27, of no fixed abode were also arrested on Friday, March 11 before being charged with conspiracy to commit burglary.

The shops raided include Knutsford Road, Warrington, Fylde Road, Southport, Balfour Street, Runcorn, Market Street, Hoylake, Myrtle Street, Liverpool, Queens Road, Formby, Chaise Meadow, Lymm and Clippers Quay, Salford. A Tesco supermarket was also targeted on Coronation Road in Crosby.
All four of the men are set to appear at Liverpool Crown Court on Thursday, March 24.
