GameStop Trade-In Values for Old Switch Unveiled
While some are still hesitant to let go of their original Switch consoles despite planning to get the Switch 2, those who are willing to part with the old device may do so and earn via GameStop. According to GameRant, GameStop shared a new list of limited-time promotions for gamers who want to let go of their old Switch consoles several hours before opening pre-orders.
As per GameStop, users may get up to $175 off their Nintendo Switch 2 reservation when they opt to surrender their old console to purchase the new one, and this is available for regular customers who do not have subscriptions.
However, as for GameStop Pro subscribers, they are guaranteed an extra 10% in-store credit if they trade in their old Switch consoles to the company.
That being said, it is important to note that the generation or version of the console would vary in its in-store trade-in credit via the program, particularly as this price only applies to the most recent ones.
Older consoles would still be accepted, but GameStop would credit lower prices for them.
GameStop Trade-In Credits For Old Switch Consoles
Here is the credit eligibility as follows:
- Nintendo Switch OLED version - $175
- Nintendo Switch V1 or V2 - $125
- Nintendo Switch Lite - $100
According to GameStop, these are the maximum possible in-store credits to be granted to customers trading in their old Switch consoles as they will be subject to evaluation and inspection. GameStop revealed that these maximum prices would only apply to good condition items that have complete accessories, and anything other than that would have a lower value.
For context, GameStop previously offered only $110 in-store credit for regular customers' Switch OLED and $121 for Pro subscribers. On the other hand, the Switch V2 with the Neon Blue and Red Joy-Cons features a $90 regular and $99 Pro trade-in value.
Lastly, for the Switch Lite, GameStop previously offered up to $65 for regular and $71.50 for Pro subscribers under the program.
