Game of Thrones news: Kit Harington reveals private parts were trapped in painful dragon flying scene

Kit Harington has revealed he swerved a potentially gory fate on Game of Thrones after being swung around by his testicles.

The actor, who plays Jon Snow, recalled getting trapped while shooting a scene on a flying mechanical dragon.

“Buck work is not easy. I think what sums up the buck for me was there was a bit where Jon almost falls off,” he said in a behind-the-scenes clip for Game Revealed. “It swings round really violently and my right ball got trapped and I didn't have time to say stop and I was being swung round.

“In my head I thought ‘this is how it ends, on this buck swinging me round by my testicles’. Literally.”

He added: “Probably too much information.”

The long-awaited eighth season kicked off last night to record ratings, two years after the season seven finale.

Some 17.4 million people in the US watched Sunday night’s episode either on TV or online.

The episode topped the 16.1 million people who saw the seventh-season premiere and the 16.9 million who watched its finale.

Harington, who recently admitted to struggling to keep the plot a secret, said he “broke down” on wrapping up the last ever episode of the HBO fantasy drama.

Speaking to Esquire about the emotional shoot he said: “Then they called ‘Wrap!’ and I just f****** broke down.

“It was this onslaught of relief and grief about not being able to do this again. It wasn’t so much about Jon.

“It was about not being in this world, not getting to smell those smells, fight those fights, be with these people – the whole package.”

Harington waved goodbye to his character by shaving off his famous beard – a move which left some fans in disbelief.

Game of Thrones is on NOW TV, with episode two on Sky Atlantic, Monday at 2am and 9pm
