Hewick provided trainer John 'Shark' Hanlon with a dream Galway Plate win on Wednesday after being purchased for just €850 as a two-year-old.
It was an action-packed renewal of the €270,000 race as Hewick looked to have the race won turning for home before loose horse Exelerator Express carried him to the rail and looked like costing Hanlon's runner the win.
But Hewick held on to narrowly beat the fast-finishing Darasso and land the the two-mile-six-furlong event under Jordan Gainford.

It's Ladies Day at Ballybrit on Thursday and the stands look set to bepacked to the rafters, with the Galway Hurdle the feature race.
The action starts earlier today with the first race starting at 2.10pm.
