Galway Races 2022: Tickets, first race time, Ladies Day information and more

The Galway races return this Monday July 25th.

For the first time since 2019, the races will host a capacity crowd, with thousands of horse-racing fanatics set to descend upon Ballybrit in the coming days.

And with decent weather conditions expected for the majority of next week, it all seems set to be a cracking week of racing.

Here's everything you need to know about one of the biggest racing weeks of the year:

TV and streaming information

RTE will be showing coverage of the festival from Monday-Thursday, with streaming available via the RTE Player.

TG4 will be providing live coverage of the festival on Friday and Saturday, with streaming available via the TG4 website, player and sport app.

As always, Ballybrit will host the festival

Dates

The Galway Races will take place from Monday July 25th to Sunday July 31st.

Ticket information

Tickets can be purchased right here from the Galway races website.

Multi-day tickets, group festival packages, corporate deals and general single day admission tickets can be purchased on the site.

Single day tickets can cost as little as €25 for an adult and €20 for a student.

When is ladies day?

Thursday, July 28th is when Ladies day takes place this year.

Some stunning fashion will be on display and this year, there is a €13,000 cash bonanza on offer for the Best Dressed Lady Competition, generously sponsored by The Connacht hospitality Group.

The first of eight national hunt races takes place at 2.10pm. Thursday features the much sought after Galway Hurdle Handicap race with an impressive prize fund of €250,000 on offer.

One of the biggest days in the Irish Racing calendar, this event is also an unmissable day out for fashion lovers.

First race time

The first race on Monday begins at 5:10pm, with the last race kicking off at 8:20pm.
