Arsenal defender Gabriel Magalhaes has appeared to hit out at the refereeing decisions during Tuesday night’s draw with Newcastle.
Eddie Howe’s side became the first English team to stop the Premier League leaders from scoring, as well as the first to take points off the Gunners at the Emirates Stadium this season in a 0-0 stalemate.
Mikel Arteta, however, hit out at the “scandalous” decisions not to award the home side at least two penalties during a feisty encounter.
Both incidents came in the second-half, the first when Gabriel’s shirt looked to have been pulled by Newcastle defender Dan Burn in the box.
The second occurred during the dying moments of the game when Granit Xhaka’s cross appeared to hit Jacob Murphy on the arm.
Still, referee Andy Madley rejected both appeals, leading to wild demonstrations from Arteta on the touchline.

Taking to Twitter after the game, Gabriel posted a clip of the Burn incident with an emoji suggesting he was shocked the decision was not given.
Arsenal are back in action away at Oxford in the FA Cup Third Round on Monday before a trip to bitter rivals Tottenham later this month.
