Gabriel Magalhaes copies Virgil van Dijk celebration after Arsenal goal vs Fulham

Arsenal showed no signs of slowing their Premier League title ambitions down on Sunday with an emphatic performance against Fulham.

Mikel Arteta's side came into the weekend's fixtures five points clear of Manchester City after 26 games. Pep Guardiola's men temporarily cut the gap to only two points on Saturday evening with a narrow win over Crystal Palace.

The pressure transferred over to the Gunners on Sunday ahead of the 10-mile trip to Craven Cottage, but they replied as a team in form. First-half strikes from Gabriel, Gabriel Martinelli and Martin Odegaard put the north Londoners in a commanding lead without much trouble from Fulham.

Gabriel's opener was the defender's third goal in four appearances against Fulham. The Brazilian netted on his Arsenal debut back in 2020 and scored the last-minute winner against Marco Silva's side in August.

The 25-year-old leapt the highest from a Leandro Trossard corner five minutes after an Antonee Robinson own goal was ruled out for offside. After glancing the ball past former Gunners goalkeeper Bernd Leno, the centre-back ran off and replicated the celebration often on display from Liverpool ace Virgil van Dijk.

It's unclear what the meaning of the celebration actually is, but spectators watching on television were quick to notice the Gunners defender celebrating like the Netherlands international.
