Gabriel Jesus will undergo surgery on his left knee after suffering an injury to his anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) against Manchester United on Sunday, Arsenal have confirmed.
Arsenal forward Gabriel Jesus has been ruled out for the remainder of the 2024/25 campaign after suffering an injury to the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) in his left knee against Manchester United in the FA Cup on Sunday.
The Brazilian fell to the ground after his knee buckled while attempting to tackle Red Devils captain Bruno Fernandes, before he was stretchered off the field with less than 40 minutes on the clock.
Following scans and meetings with a specialist, it has since been confirmed that Jesus has damaged his ACL.
It comes as a major blow for the Gunners, as the 27-year-old is in-form with six goals in his last seven games, and they are already without several key players, with Bukayo Saka, Ben White and Ethan Nwaneri all ruled out through injury.

Arsenal confirmed that Jesus had suffered an ACL injury in a club statement on Tuesday evening, in which they revealed that he will undergo surgery on his knee in the coming days.
“Further to being substituted during our match with Manchester United on Sunday, Gabriel Jesus has received extensive assessments, scans and specialist reviews which have confirmed that he has sustained an injury to the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee,” the statement read.
“Gabby will undergo surgery in the coming days and will soon begin his recovery and rehabilitation programme.
“We will continue to keep everyone updated with Gabby’s recovery, with everyone at the club fully focused on supporting Gabby to ensure he is back to full fitness as soon as possible.”
The Gunners return to action on Wednesday night, when they take on Tottenham in the latest instalment of the North London derby. The UK’s best football betting sites have Mikel Arteta’s side as clear favourites to come out on top, as they look to get back to winning ways after their FA Cup third round defeat to Manchester United at the weekend.
