Gabriel Jesus hands Arsenal return hope with one-word update ahead of January transfer window

Arsenal striker Gabriel Jesus has posted an injury update on his personal Instagram page after undergoing surgery on his right knee.

The Brazilian was confirmed to be out of action until at least February earlier this month after suffering medial ligament damage whilst on international duty at the World Cup. Since returning to England and beginning his journey back to full fitness, the 25-year-old has continued to provide updates on his recovery.

After posting an image on his Instagram story last week with his knee in a knee brace, Jesus has taken to the social media platform again with an image of him wearing Arsenal training gear at London Colney, partnered with the caption "Progressing".

As with his previous posts, the image doesn't provide much to go by in terms of his recovery. It is now clear that he is back at the Gunners' training ground and with his teammates - which is an obvious welcomed sight.

However, reports have suggested it could be four months before the former Manchester City man returns to the pitch. No timescale has been confirmed by either the club or player, with Mikel Arteta refusing to provide any hints at his return.

"With Gabi it's difficult to put a time frame because it was a significant injury," the Arsenal boss said on Thursday. "Knowing him, I prefer not to give any dates.

"It's going to take some time for sure. He's gone through surgery and that tells you the extent of the injury. We will be in the market always active and we will assess the biggest opportunities that we have."
