Gabriel Jesus has heaped praise on Arsenal starlet and fellow Brazilian international Gabriel Martinelli.
The north London outfit completed a £45million deal to bring Jesus to the Emirates Stadium on Monday morning, becoming the club's fourth signing of the summer following deals for Fabio Vieira, Matt Turner and Marquinhos. Now, the 25-year-old striker has spoken with the Gunners' official media team, hailing young winger Martinelli for the way he has developed under Mikel Arteta's stewardship.
“I'm so happy with him,” Jesus said when asked about his compatriot. “He went to train with us in the national team [in the summer of 2019] and was in the Copa America in Brazil.

"We saw him and his qualities, and he can do things other players cannot. When I saw him come to Arsenal I was not surprised because I knew he had the quality to play in a big club in Europe and Brazil.
"I'm so happy for him because he deserves this because he's a quality player. The next season I was following him, watching videos and games.”
The former Palmeiras frontman also made it no secret of his admiration for Arsenal's other Gabriel, Gabriel Magalhaes, who also plays for the Brazilian national team. When asked about his battles with the 24-year-old centre-back, he replied: "Difficult.
"He's so strong. I have played against him a couple of times. He's a very difficult defender, but has the quality to play as well.”
