Gabriel Jesus Arsenal shirt number revealed in 'leaked' video ahead of Man City exit

Gabriel Jesus has seemingly been spotted filming footage for his unveiling at Arsenal ahead of his transfer from Manchester City.

Jesus is set to move from City to Arsenal for a fee of around £45million in his search for more regular playing time after five-and-a-half years at the Etihad. It now appears that confirmation of his transfer is close, with a video showing him walking around the pitch at the Emirates Stadium in a new Arsenal shirt chatting to a camera.

Jesus is wearing the No.9 shirt in the video, taken from an upper tier at the Emirates, after Alexandre Lacazette departed Arsenal this summer and left the shirt vacant. It is the same number he wore at City, and if he leaves, it will free up the squad number for new Blues striker Erling Haaland.

In the footage, which is circulating on Twitter, Jesus is strolling down the touchline in a full Arsenal kit, with two cameras following his movements. He appears to be chatting with an Arsenal member of staff in what would appear to be for promotional purposes when his signing is confirmed.

It's unclear when the video was taken, but one Arsenal fan account claimed it was recorded on Thursday morning. On Tuesday, Jesus was seen being greeted by Arsenal Sporting Director Edu at a London hospital to finalise his move to Mikel Arteta's side.

Other images on social media have shown fans getting pictures with Jesus in London as the transfer announcement gets closer.

In 236 appearances for City, Jesus scored an impressive 95 goals and added a further 46 assists, but his later years at the club saw him struggle for regular starts as he sought a run of games on the wing. In April, though, he suggested that he wanted to return to playing as a central striker, and didn't rule out leaving City in search of regular playing time.

With City's signings of Haaland and Julian Alvarez, Jesus' prospects at the Etihad would have been given increased competition, and he now looks set to make the switch to Arsenal.
