Gabriel and Aaron Ramsdale break Arsenal players' social media silence after Aubameyang exit

Arsenal duo Aaron Ramsdale and Gabriel Magalhaes took to social media to wish Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang well after he secured a deadline day move to Barcelona.

Aubameyang was relieved of the club's captaincy duties in December following a disciplinary breach and football.london revealed over the festive period that the north Londoners were open to offers for the 32-year-old.

Saudi side Al-Nassr tried to prize the former Borussia Dortmund star away from the Emirates Stadium but the player wanted to stay in Europe before eventually securing a move to the Blaugrana instead.

The Gunners confirmed on Tuesday evening that he had left the club after a mutual agreement and football.london understands that the transfer will be confirmed once the Catalan side sort out some formalities with La Liga.

Aubameyang took to social media to thank Arsenal fans for their support over the last four years and centre-back Gabriel, as well as goalkeeper Ramsdale both, took to the comment section to wish their former captain well.

Writing on Instagram, Gabriel said: "Love u Bro", along with three heart emojis.

Meanwhile, Ramsdale commented: "Thanks for looking after me big bro", accompanied by a heart and a sad face emoji.

Despite a rollercoaster end to his career in north London, the veteran centre-forward still enjoyed an extremely productive few seasons with the club.

In fact, Aubameyang notched a whopping 92 goals and 21 assists in just 163 outings for the Gunners, winning the Premier League golden boot for his goalscoring efforts during the 2018/19 campaign, sharing the award with Liverpool duo Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah.

He was also instrumental to the club's FA Cup triumph in the summer of 2020, bagging a brace in the semi-final and final against Manchester City and Chelsea respectively.
