Gabriel Agbonlahor urges Arsenal 'to get their act together' as Spurs continue to sort business

Arsenal have been warned by Gabriel Agbonlahor that they could be left behind should the club not act fast in the transfer market.

Their north London rivals Spurs pipped them to fourth last season and have acted fast from the get-go in the window, signing Ivan Perisic and Fraiser Forster on free transfers, whilst a fee has been agreed with Brighton for midfielder Yves Bissouma.

Arsenal, on the other hand, are reportedly intensifying their interest in Gabriel Jesus and Youri Tielemans, but Agbonloahor believes that frustration will kick in amongst the fanbase if deals aren't completed quickly and continue to drag on.

"Arsenal will be frustrated because the longer the Jesus deal goes on, they will be nervous," he said. "Is it going to get done? Is he going to come?

"It's nervous times for Arsenal fans because they need midfielders as well. They need a right-back. For me, there's plenty of positions in that team that need replacements. They need two strikers, not just one.

"I know they've brought in Marquinhos, but you don't know how good he's going to be at 19 years of age.

"Arsenal need to get their act together; otherwise, they're just going to be a Europa League team, and that's not what the fans want."

Strengthening the forward line will be the priority for Mikel Arteta; however, as Agbonlahor states, the Gunners need to address multiple departments across the squad.

The issue last season for Arsenal was that in the absence of key starters, the quality of the club's backup options wasn't strong enough to secure Champions League football.

It's therefore imperative that both the floor and ceiling of the squad are raised significantly so that similar problems do not occur in the near future.
