Gabby Logan broke down in tears as she opened up about her husband’s battle with prostate cancer.
The BBC sports presenter, 49, said her family were left shocked after her partner Kenny, 50, was diagnosed with cancer in February.
The mother-of-two grew tearful as she revealed her husband had “six stab wounds in his torso” during his operation.
Speaking on the Diary of a CEO podcast, she said: “He [Kenny] was really upset as you can imagine and I just thought, "Right no, this is going to be absolutely fine, what are we going to do? What are the answers here?"
“His neurologist was brilliant, he’s a brilliant communicator and told us what the options were and I was like.
“[I said] We’ve just to get a plan together, you need to know what you’re doing and then we will keep being positive about it.
“That’s what we did really, once we got over the initial shock, we just really kind of focused on it as a project we had to deal with and it’s a b****y awful operation.”
She called his operation “really invasive”, adding: “It’s horrible to see him in the pain he was afterwards, it’s a horrible thing to go through but he’s doing really really well now.”
“He’s just great, I’m very lucky. He’s a great man and I couldn’t ever wish for anybody to have shared my life with, who is better.”
It comes after Kenny urged men to get tested as he opened up about his diagnosis.
“I literally fell over,” he said of the February 7 diagnosis. “I didn’t see it coming. No symptoms whatsoever... It’s hard.
“I found I had prostate cancer by accident. If you have symptoms it might be too late. Guys go get tested, simple and could save your life.”
