Gabby Agbonlahor can't resist Liverpool dig in Instagram response to Jose Enrique

Gabby Agbonlahor has claimed that the “decline has already started” at Liverpool following their latest defeat.

The Reds were beaten 4-1 by Napoli in their opening Champions League Group A clash on Wednesday night. Jurgen Klopp’s side were 3-0 down at half time with goals from Piotr Zielinski, Andre-Franck Anguissa and Giovanni Simeone, before Zielinski scored a fourth for the Italian club shortly after the interval.

Luis Diaz scored the only goal of the game for Liverpool, in what turned out to be nothing more than a consolation. The defeat was the Reds’ second of the season in all competitions.

Former Liverpool defender Jose Enrique posted on Instagram that the Reds were beaten by their opponents in each of their seven matches in three departments other than the scoreline. These were distance covered, high speed runs and sprints.

Enrique captioned the post by saying: “This says it all. For many years we [have] been beating everyone in intensity, distance between etc. The team for whatever is the reason is not putting as much as they used to for [the] first seven games.

“Hopefully this changes soon and I'm sure the results will come with it.”

This post led to a comment from Agbonlahor, who has recently clashed with Reds boss Klopp after comments made about Manchester United on TalkSport.

He wrote: “The decline has started bro.” The former Aston Villa striker wasn’t done there, either.

While responding to a comment from a fan about Sadio Mane’s exit, Agbonlahor gave his opinion once again. “Mane is a big loss,” wrote Agbonlahor.
