Gabby Agbonlahor has told Celtic to give Charlie Wyke a "chance."
The Celts are preparing for a major rebuild this summer as they look to close the gap on Steven Gerrard's Rangers side.
Reports have been linking the Scottish giants with a move for the out of contract Black Cats striker.
Wyke enjoyed his best return in a red and white shirt this season, scoring 31 goals in all competitions.
Sunderland have entered discussions with the 28-year-old Boro striker, but his fine form this season has attracted suitors from elsewhere.
Celtic are among a number of clubs chasing his signature, according to reports, and Agbonlahor has backed the Scottish Premiership side to give him a chance.
The former Aston Villa striker told Football Insider : “He could do.
“It’s worth giving him a chance.
“If he can do that in League One then I reckon it’s worth giving him a chance.
“They need a bit of a change there so it’s worth giving him a chance.”
